Unlike traditional 2D X-rays imaging which include bitewings, periapical and OPG, CBCT 3D X-rays technology allows us to plan your major treatments better. For example, before we perform wisdom teeth surgical extraction, we need to have 3D X-rays ready to determine the risk of potential nerve damage from the surgery itself. In many root canal treatment cases too, 3D-Xrays help to decide whether you should see an Endodontist for treatment due to tooth abnormality.
A lot of dental clinics do not invest in OPG or 3D X-rays machines due to the cost. As a result, their patients need to take extra time to visit local radiology centres to get an OPG taken and then return to the dentist for treatment. When you visit us at Dentist Mandy, we are able to save you that time and stress.

The iTero scanner is packed with amazing technology. Once your teeth are scanned, it automatically uploads your digital impressions to the Invisalign cloud. The expert team on the other side of the world can see your scans in a matter of moments. By using the iTero scanner, we are able track the progress of our Invisalign treatment patients quickly and easily.
This advanced system has the ability to compare 2 different scans so we can pinpoint any subtle changes between your visits. We find that this really helps our patients to understand the changes of their teeth and gums over time. Often patients are surprised to find they are suffering from subconscious grinding – this is something which the scans can reflect and which can impact directly on treatment pathways.
